Abstract

Virtual machines (VMs) are widely used to share hardware compute and storage resources among many users. In bioinformatics, typical applications leverage grid computing, where tasks are run in parallel on many machines (a cluster). Snowflock provides dynamic cloning of individual VMs into virtual clusters for bioinformatics grid computing.
